I’m sitting in chancery court, this morning, waiting for my case to be called, and vaguely listening to the court call. An attorney wants to change his name — to make it shorter, he says — and as Judge Bronstein goes through his questions, he notes that the Petitioner recently finished the Marathon, apparently with a good time, and congratulates the Petitioner on his performance. Petitioner gives him a strange look and the Judge smiles, and says “I Google name changers. It’s the 21st Century.”
I don’t know whether the case will get to trial, but this is a Judge I can work with.
