Google’s Gmail is easy to use, now provides two Gigabytes of storage and makes it easy to retrieve old e-mail with a fast, Google search. And it turns out those advertising links can be very useful. For example, in an e-mail thread with ScanSoft’s PR folks, discussing PDF Converter 3 I came across not one, but two other products that belong in the same review.
Although I’ve reviewed a number of PDF Printer / Drivers, I had never heard of Bluebeam Lite or Click to Convert 5.5 and PDF Toolbox 6.0 from New Zealand’s Inzone Software Limited. I hope I’ll be able to write about what these products do in a subsequent review.
Actually, this isn’t unusual. The Gmail ads (and the Google ads, generally) are apparently very cost-effective for lesser known companies, or at least there are a lot of them using the medium. They often point to interesting things I haven’t seen before. Of course, the question is how lawyers can use them. If you’ve used Google ads, drop me a line; I’d be interested in your experiences.
