Needles, the Windows-based successor to the MS-DOS-based PINS, if memory serves, has been around forever, and now presents a new version, adding CRM
NEEDLES VERSION 4.6 RELEASED BY CHESAPEAKE INTERLINK
Customizable Case Management System is Enhanced with Robust Customer Relationship Tool
The program used to be primarily for Personal Injury Plaintiff Trial Lawyers but apparently has changed to a more general product.
OWINGS MILLS, MD (May 9, 2005) – Chesapeake Interlink, the creator of Needles, a customizable case management software for law firms of all sizes, today announced the release of Needles 4.6. This new release enables lawyers and firm administrators to substantially streamline and organize all aspects of legal administration including billing, contact management, calendars, case status and reports.
with all sorts of new features:
Customer Relationship Management Tab (CRM) – This tab helps firms run or develop reports to identify and categorize customers and is critical to assisting the firm in managing customer relationships and satisfaction levels, managing marketing campaigns and developing sales leads. Needles CRM Tab can be customized based on the firms needs or can be directed to a default setup.
Status Data for Website Viewing – The improved Status Tab provides the ability to report the status of a case directly on a firm’s website. The client or referring attorneys can easily log into the website to check the status of their case, minimizing the need for client phone calls to the firm while providing overall added convenience. These HTML files are written in a format that can be used “as is” to display a web page in a standard format or modified to conform to a firm’s website existing design.
Intakes from a File – Needles now accepts intakes from an external source, such as a web form or an email attachment and are imported directly into a Needles intake sheet. This is especially helpful for those firms who capture case information on their website or who use a call center to capture intake information, eliminating the need to have someone manually retype the information into Needles.
I’m not sure whether customer seminars are new for the vendor, but one is scheduled for the end of the week:
In conjunction with this release, the company is hosting a “Needles for Smarties” meeting on May 12th and 13th in Baltimore, MD. This seminar is designed to teach firms how to better communicate with clients, manage law firm operations and track marketing efforts. A second seminar is scheduled for September 22nd and 23rd in Las Vegas.
