The ABA TechShow begins Thursday Morning (with some Wednesday pre-show activities) and the PR folks put out a final (?) announcement:
The ABA TECHSHOW(r) 2005 opens in Chicago this week with more than 50
educational sessions in 12 exciting tracks and an expo featuring 100
leading technology companies. ABA TECHSHOW will be held at the Sheraton
Chicago Hotel and Towers from March 31-April 2.
And here are some of the seminars the ABA is highlighting:

Thursday, March 31
* “Meet the Bloggers” will introduce some of the rock stars of the legal
blogging world who will demonstrate how blogging is done, from 1-2 p.m.* “Spy vs. Spy: Electronic Snooping by Husbands, Wives and Lovers” will
discuss the hot issue of electronic spying, how it works and its
legality. This is a session that will attract lawyers of all practice
specialties, from 2:15-3:15 p.m.* “Cyber Self-Defense: Protecting Yourself from Spyware, Adware, Viruses
and Phishing Attacks” is a hands-on session aimed at arming
practitioners with the knowledge to stop infestation of malicious
programs that can harm sensitive data, from 2:15-3:15 p.m.* Keynote Address: Eugene Lee, vice president of product marketing,
Intelligent Document Business Unit for Adobe Systems, will discuss ways
legal professionals can take advantage of new technologies without
having to dramatically alter the way they work, from 4:15-5:30 p.m.Friday, April 1
* “Where Worlds Collide: Ethics and Information Security” will explore
the many dangers in using software to trap the unwary. Discover if
others can access your e-mail and confidential data and what you can do
about it, from 10:30-11:45 a.m.Saturday, April 2
* “Gadgets and Gizmos” will demonstrate the latest in widgets, gidgets,
gadgets and tech tools that lawyers can use in everyday practice, from 9
-10:15 a.m.* “Hot Issues in Cyber Security: Identity Theft, Spyware/Adware, Privacy
Issues and the PATRIOT Act” will look at the erosion of privacy on the
Internet due to government sanctions and users’ unwitting invitation,
from 10:30 a.m.- noon.
It should be both fun and educational and there’s still time to book a plane and join the festivities. (And any Chicago lawyer reading this has no excuse at all. Sheraton Towers. Thursday through Saturday.
