It has been a couple of years since the last WordPerfect upgrade and here it is, again, just in time for showing off at NY Legal Tech. The product, dubbed X3 — a hopefully lucky form of 13, I’m told — can now read .PDF files for instant editing, and can save in Save Without MetaData mode, to be appreciated by anyone who has ever been embarrassed or worse by fragments of prior drafts or sarcastic comments accidently submitted to the other side.
In addition to PDF Import, Corel WordPerfect Office X3 offers a wide variety of new and enhanced features, including a new email client, a fresh new user interface, new online resources, enhanced multilingual character support and the powerful ability to easily eliminate hidden metadata. These new capabilities are complemented by the suite’s beloved classic features – such as RealTime Preview, context-sensitive toolbars and task-oriented wizards, making Corel WordPerfect Office X3 the easiest-to-use version of WordPerfect Office ever.
Of course, the product will be easier to use, and more compatible with Microsoft Office than Microsoft Office and, I am certain, still has the beloved Reveal Codes that Word hasn’t quite yet acquired. Plus, there’s some sort of resource sharing with Yahoo, be still my heart.
I’ll be writing about more details, and clearly this will get a full review.
Trying a new feature of WordPress, I’ll be attempting to update a (Word) version of Corel’s press release. We’ll see how this feature works.
