My first personal computer was an Apple ][ --- not one of those new fashioned //C or //e machines, or even a ][+, but a plain old ][. With 48K of RAM. So it is with considerable sadness that I note the renaming of Apple Computer, Inc., dropping the "Computer" part of the name. Although Apple's computers were wonderful back in 1978 and remain so today, the company no longer wishes to be limited in its branding identity, and so henceforth will be known simply as Apple, Inc.
The other big news from MacWorld Expo, of course, is that Motorola no longer makes the world's coolest cell phone, that title being taken over by Apple, Inc. and ithe iPhone. More commentary when I've had a chance to test one, but definitely cool.
